Accord No.03: AMBRE

Elegant, beguiling, elusive. This beautiful perfume begins with a sophisticated blend of three different kinds of Ambre: Amyris Resin, Balsam of Peru and Storax Resin that together give warm, balsamic, powdery olfactoric notes. The scent’s soft velvet sweetness is twisted with a sustainably-grown Indian Sandalwood that brings creamy woody notes held in an embrace of powdery Tuberose and fruity Magnolia Leaf.

Olfactory family: Ambre Musk. Can a perfume roar? If any single ingredient can create those effects, it’s musk. This ingredient was a named originally by a a substance with a strong odor obtained from a gland of the Tibetan musk deer, which became endangered – though since 1979 this creature has happily now protected. Our 100% botanical perfume formulation is enriched with a 100% botanical ambrette seeds. Musky, slightly sweet – that’s what you’ll get when you smell ambrette, the aromatic medicinal plant.

Sweet, floral, leathery and balsamic, resin ingredients have been used in perfumery since ancient times. We use three ambres here: Amyris (Amyris Balsamifera) resin from Haitian forests; Balsam of Peru (Myroxolon Balsamum) wild-harvested in El Salvador; and Storax Resin (Liquidambar Styraciflua) collected by the Pech people from the ancient forests of the Olancho Mountains in Honduras.

Our amber resins are harvested from very old trees, using traditional methods that do not harm the tree.
